vancouver 2010 official poster

Vancouver 2010 PosterJust a quick hit this morning, but just in time for Canada Day VANOC has released the official Vancouver 2010 Olympic poster.  It uses the games colour scheme (which I personally love) of blues and greens and forms a maple leaf.  I know when you hear it or see it written down somewhere it doesn’t sound that exciting but when you have a good look at the poster itself you can see it’s pretty well done.  It has lots of textures and patterns as well as digital images that represent the west-coast lifestyle.  The Vancouver2010 website says the poster is “created by hand using paint and mixed media prior to digital composition, the techniques employed to produce the original piece of art complement the modern and dynamic style of the Vancouver 2010 graphics.”

It is created by the VANOC designer Ben Hulse who created the torch as well as the other individual event posters and I think looks pretty modern and stylish… especially when you compare it to past Olympic posters.  Let me know what you think!  And let me know quick before VANOC shuts my blog down for posting Olympic images without a license.

Cheers!
